Our Story
How we got here
Love is patient and kind.1 Corinthians 13:4
Dallis and Billy’s story began in 2015 at UTSA, long before either of them knew they were meeting the person they would one day marry.
UTSA
Although they shared many mutual friends, Dallis lived off campus freshman year, so their paths hadn’t officially crossed. That changed one day while Dallis was studying at the JPL on campus and Billy came over, sat down, and introduced himself. It was a simple conversation, nothing either of them thought much of at the time, but it was the beginning of a story that would take years to unfold.
College
Throughout college, their paths continued to cross. Both were in the College of Business, both were members of Divine Nine organizations, and their friend groups were closely intertwined. Between campus events, Greek life, parties, and mutual friends, they were never too far outside of each other’s orbit. But for years, they were simply friends.
After graduation
After graduation, life brought them a little closer. Billy moved to Dallis’ hometown of Austin, and when COVID brought Dallis back home about a year later, she and Billy reconnected through their mutual friend, Bethany. The three quickly became a close-knit trio, giving Dallis and Billy the chance to build a friendship neither realized would eventually become something more.
Houston
Billy later moved back home to Houston. About a year later, Dallis was ready for a change of her own and found herself deciding between Dallas and Houston. After visiting both cities and weighing the pros and cons, Houston simply made sense. Her community was there, and although she didn’t know it at the time, so was her future husband.
A trio, then a duo
Once Dallis made the move, their Austin trio became a Houston duo. With more time together, the fun outings they’d always enjoyed as friends slowly started feeling a little more like dates. Somewhere between the laughter, the adventures, and simply enjoying each other’s company, years of friendship turned into something more.
On September 27, 2023, Billy officially asked Dallis to be his girlfriend.
Since then
Since then, they’ve traveled together, celebrated some of life’s sweetest moments, and stood beside each other through some of its hardest. Through every season, they’ve remained a team. Their relationship is rooted in friendship, filled with love and laughter, and grounded in the simple fact that they genuinely have so much fun doing life together.
On December 31, 2025, Billy asked Dallis to marry him, and she said yes.
Looking back
What began as a simple introduction at UTSA became years of crossing paths, a beautiful friendship, and eventually a love neither of them saw coming. It feels as though life kept finding little ways to bring them back to each other until the timing was finally right.
Along the way
June 18, 2027
Now, Dallis and Billy can’t wait to begin their next chapter and celebrate with all of the people who have been part of their story along the way.
